Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the last major stretch of tropical rainforest in Sri Lanka. Located in the southwest lowlands, this lush green sanctuary is home to an incredible variety of endemic flora and fauna, including rare birds, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals.
With its dense canopy, misty trails, and hidden waterfalls, Sinharaja offers a magical and educational experience for nature lovers, hikers, and eco-tourists.
Sinharaja is a biodiversity hotspot that allows visitors to experience one of the richest ecosystems in Asia. It’s a paradise for birdwatchers, with over 20 endemic bird species, including the Sri Lanka blue magpie and red-faced malkoha. Guided walks through the forest reveal towering trees, colorful insects, exotic plants, and hidden streams.
Unlike other parks, Sinharaja is all about walking safaris—no jeeps—allowing for a peaceful, immersive journey into the heart of Sri Lanka’s natural world.
